Students have the opportunity to gain valuable real-world engineering experiences working with a variety of industries before they graduate. These experiences are an integral part of your engineering experience at OSU.

There are two engineering job fairs during the academic year to assist you in securing a co-op or internship – Autumn Engineering Expo and Spring SWE Career Fair.

In addition, our Engineering Career Services Office helps graduating students at the BS, MS, and PhD levels to connect with employers seeking career candidates, while the Engineering Cooperative Education and Internship Program (ECIP) helps undergraduates starting as early as the sophomore year to develop the skills needed to successfully connect with employers who want to hire co-ops and interns.

These offices also offer a job shadow program. This is a one day opportunity for OSU engineering students to spend time at an employer’s site, observe engineers, and learn more about professional roles related to their major.  This shadow takes place at various company locations throughout Ohio during OSU’s Spring Break week.
