ISE Professor Receives INFORMS Volunteer Service Award

ISE Associate Professor Güzin Bayraksan has been awarded the INFORMS Volunteer Service Award at the Distinguished level for her service in 2016-2017. The Volunteer Service Award has been established to recognize INFORMS members who have given their time and expertise to serve the community of INFORMS.

Professor Bayraksan provided exceptional service as the Vice Chair of Optimization under Uncertainty, organizing 40 sessions at the INFORMS Annual Conference.  These sessions cover a wide range of fields, and involve preeminent researchers from around the world.  Topics discussed included related areas such as statistical learning and simulation optimization, and included both methodology and important applications. She also served as Past-President of Women in OR/MS, serving on Two Award Committees, INFORMS Computing Society Conference organization, and member of the INFORMS Academic Programs Database Committee.
