ISE student selected as runner-up for INFORMS Computing Society Student Paper Prize

ISE Ph.D. student, Xiao Liu, has been selected as runner-up for the INFORMS Computing Society Student Paper Prize for the paper: X. Liu, S. Küçükyavuz and J. Luedtke, Decomposition Algorithms for Two-Stage Chance-Constrained Programs, to appear in Mathematical Programming, 2014. The ICS Student Paper Award is given annually to the best paper at the interface of computing and operations research by a student author, as judged by the award selection committee.

Xiao Liu is a 4th year Ph.D. candidate from Beijing, China. He is working with Dr. Simge Kucukyavuz. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Department of Reliability and System Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His research interests are mixed-integer programming, large scale optimization, optimization under uncertainty, and their applications.
