Title: Navigating NSF: Finding support for your IE/OR-related proposals

 

Abstract: As a discipline, industrial engineering and operations research covers broad and diverse domain areas, including (but not limited to) manufacturing, energy, healthcare, logistics, public safety, infrastructure, and many other fields. At NSF, IE/OR-related research is supported through many core programs as well as special initiatives. This talk will introduce many of the NSF programs that support IE/OR research, discuss the review process at NSF, and provide guidance and advice on how to find the best home for your research projects at NSF.

Bio: Georgia-Ann Klutke is Program Director for the Operations Engineering (OE) program in the Engineering Directorate at NSF. She retired in 2015 from a long academic career, most recently in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, where she is an emeritus professor. She joined NSF the following year, where she is also actively engaged in cross-cutting initiatives such as CAREERDisrupting Operations of Illicit Supply NetworksSmart and Connected Health, and AI Institutes, among other activities.
