Senior Capstone Courses

Senior Capstone Experience

Students in both of our programs complete their BS degree with a capstone design experience. Objectives of the capstone course are:

• To give students experience in solving real world engineering problems with as much professional quality as is possible via an academic course.
• To encourage students to integrate material from their previous courses and experience.
• To further develop group problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• To further develop skills in making oral technical presentations.
• To further develop professional report writing skills.

Real World Projects

Real-world projects are sponsored by companies in and around Ohio. The diversity of project sponsors, such as Honda of America, Ryobi, Lauren Manufacturing, Ashland, Bishop Hartley High School, Ford Motor Company, Children's Hospital, Safelite Auoglass, and Sherwin-Williams, reflects the breadth of projects that our students experience.
