Areas of Interest
Dr. Smith's research focuses on cognitive systems engineering, distributed work systems, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction and the design of cooperative problem-solving systems, intelligent information retrieval systems, and intelligent tutoring systems, using contexts such as aviation, medicine, military planning, library systems, and education as testbeds.
