Cathy H. Xia is an associate professor of Operations Research at OSU. Before coming to OSU, she was a senior research scientist at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, NY, where she served as the chair of the Professional Interest Community on Performance Modeling and Analysis at IBM Research. Dr. Xia holds numerous US and International Patents and has received many IBM awards including three times the IBM Research Division Award and a number of Invention Achievement Awards. Cathy Honghui Xia is the co-editor of the Book Performance Modeling and Engineering, Springer 2008. She is the associate editor of International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector (IJISSS). She has also served on the program committees of many major conferences including SIGMETRICS, Performance and INFOCOM. She is a member of INFORMS, ACM, and the IEEE Computer Society.
